Barrels of oil you are consuming
World-wide, 1000 barrels of oil are used
each second. The U.S. contributes to this by consuming 20 million barrels each day. The rest of the world consumes 60 million barrels a day. Most of this consumption comes from our thirst for gasoline, to fuel our cars and light trucks.
What contribution are you making to this staggering rate of oil usage?
Oil use accountability
How would you like to participate in a "gas usage" experiment? All you have to do is:
- Obtain your own personal link to this site (see below).
- Return to your link periodically, and type in the odometer (mileage) reading on your car.
With your participation, we'll help you track your gas usage, so you can see how you might be contributing to the "1000 barrels per second."
